THE MEMORIAL CONCERT I AM SPEARHEADING, REDISCOVERING SORREL HAYS

Before her very sad, premature death in 2020, my close friend and colleague, Sorrel Hays, asked me to spearhead a memorial concert of her large scale symphonic/choral works at a New York City concert hall. Covid delayed our plans. Now it is happening.

Sorrel’s remarkable contributions to contemporary music will also be featured in a book published by Penguin in the Fall of 2023, in cooperation with The New York Times and some of its journalists, about under-recognized women composers.

If you want to attend this event, please email me right away at Lgoldbe@aol.com. It is an invitation event. A video will be streamed for 20 days after editing.

Dear firend of forty years, how sorely you are missed: you humor, generosity, love of life and boundary-bursting creativity.
