HISTORICAL NOVEL SOCIETY AUTHOR READING AND PRIVATE PARTY

About 30 members gathered in the lovely New York City apartment of member Christina Britton Conroy for a warm networking event and to welcome new friends. We tried a new protocol: 2-minute reads for the first seven authors to sign up. As co-chair I moderated and chair Stephanie Cowell called ‘Time.’ It was a tremendous success, as we heard from new authors, published and works in progress.

Our New York Chapter is a vibrant group, and in an industry that is brutal to most writers, is a mutually supportive group that has grown from pre-Covid membership of about 90 to 500, since we went full Zoom during Covid times.

Now we blend in-person events at the landmark Jefferson Market Library, with hybrid events–live and zoom– with Zoom only.
