I had fun at Wesleyan R. J. Julia on May 13, talking to an astute audience with three other local authors. The technology—gorgeous huge flat screen—didn’t work, so had to rely on my laptop for visuals and lots of hand gestures, normal book tour stuff, one of my co-panelists assured me. To tell you the truth, it reminded me of the first public concert I played in when I was eleven. All the lights went out—typical Australian utility workers’ strike—we made do with candles and memory. The keynote singer refused to go on, so I played my piece twice! Anyway, back to R. J. Julia. I was delighted to sell a book, and, even better, was invited to speak at their main store in Madison, CT. late summer.
